About this tool

BT Mail Migration is a private tool operated by the account owner to copy historical BT emails into their authorised Gmail account and verify the results.

Information accessed and its purpose

The tool accesses email contents and attachments, message identifiers, sender and recipient details, dates, read status and folder or label information. It uses this information to copy messages, verify their integrity, check for duplicates and resume interrupted work.

Google permissions

The tool requests permission to read Gmail messages and settings and to add migrated emails. It does not request permission to send emails or delete existing Gmail messages. Google sign-in is handled by Google; the tool does not receive the account’s Google password.

Storage and security

The tool runs on the owner’s Mac. Email backups, migration records and verification results are stored locally. Google OAuth credentials are stored in macOS Keychain. Connections to Google and BT use encrypted transport.

Files may also be included in backup or synchronisation services configured by the owner. Migrated emails remain in the destination Gmail account under Google’s account settings and policies.

Use and sharing

Email data is used for migration, verification and troubleshooting. The migration tool does not sell email data or use it for advertising. It does not publish emails on this website.

Support access to specific email data requires the owner’s authorisation. Any owner-authorised support or backup service is also subject to that service’s applicable privacy terms.

Retention and control

Backups and migration records remain until the owner removes them. The owner can stop the tool and revoke its Google access through their Google Account’s connections settings.

Revoking access stops future authorised access; it does not delete local backups or emails already copied into Gmail. The owner controls the retention and deletion of those copies.

BT Mail Migration’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements:
